Guys will always bring the toilet seat up and leave it there after our business.
This is correct as we don't want to wet the seat.
You just have to assume the seat is always up and try to lower down the seat everytime you enter the toilet.

Hey, I'm a guy, and it has happened to me. I left the lid up; I went into a dark bathroom because I didn't want to wake the others sleeping, and sat down on a cold ring and darn near fell in. After that, I have been almost 100% on putting the lid down. After all, my wife does let me put the toilet paper on the holder with the flap over the top. An added note - if you have young boys using the same bathroom, it is better to leave the lid up unless you want to sit on a wet seat - just thought that I would add that.

A girl I know once commented on this - her brothers didn't put the toilet seat up at all. Would you rather have to put the seat down or have to clean up when they miss/spray?

I think I fell in once when I was a kid. I always assume its up and flip it down. We (Men) will never put the seat down because its not a problem for us. We lift it up to help you. You (women) kept complaing about us peeing on the seat. Women are never satisfied. Its always something - although I must admit sitting in cold water must suck. They have something called a Johnny light that might help you. Good luck.

I just always put the lid all the way down.. so, both will have to raise the lid or the lid and seat to do anything, only fair that we both have to open and close to use it.

Very few times has this ever happened to me. Mainly because there is always enough light in my bath room to tell if its up or down. We need it up you need it down, we have to put it up behind you. So you can put it down be hind us. We have to check and see if its down be for we pee, you check to see if its up before you pee. Make sence. And women say the want equality! They already have it made.
