It is both the fault of people and media. Our behavior is as a result of our brought up and environment. We know what is right and what is wrong. We know hate, jealously, backbiting selfishness harm he society. Racism and cast system are insult to humanity. Schools can play important role. We should also ensure we practice what we say.

i think that racism still exists because of both people and the media. The media, especially. it shows the worst scenarios that they can just so that the story is more interesting, that way people jump to conclusions. I say the people too because everyone makes a quick judgement about other people whether they admit it or not. i.e. black people dont go to the bank very often because they distrust white people with their money. and white people assume asians and hispanics and black people are nothing but trouble. lets just get over it, shall we?

people are racist b/c they want things to be simple..they want to see things in black and white. its an attempt to make sense of things b/c we truly have trouble admitting that the world is unpredictable and we don't really know anything.
humans try and come up with an answer to everything, they can't let things be unknown, like freakin religions try and explain things that noone knows. so when someone does something we say "its because hes (insert race here)!" or its b/c they are poor, short, ugly, etc... we sum ppl up to come up with answers that aren't really answers
