Can anyone reccommend a book on horses? It should have lots of breed information, info on horse care, terminology, and basic medical/anatomy. Thanks!

I recieved the Horses for Dummies book when I had been riding for over 12 years, had competed and shown my horse successfully in multiple division and classes, and was about ready to start college in an equestrian studies degree. Naturally I was very offended. But the more I looked at it, the more I wanted to flip through it and see if I could learn anything. I didnt think that I would but I finally picked it up and I learned a few things. not much, but a little. I highly suggest it for anyone, including a seasoned professional, because if anything, it is good for the humor. It is written by one of the former editors of Horse Illustrated, who was one of my favorite authors. Very good book.

Simon & Schuster have published a few good books on horse breeds and general information for non-horse people. They have a large coffee table type book, and a smaller "pocket" size book. both have breeds, basic conformation, basics about tack, and basic care.

I remember a book called The Horse . It might be hard to find a book that has all of that information in it . Good luck .

Dont take this the wrong way but there is a Horses for Dummies book. I saw them at wal-mart and from past experience in reading those books on different subjects they have been pretty helpful. :)

ask your vet hae will give you a book to look up also go to the liberiy for tthe infomation there is the fox troter, morgans, roans to name a few off the top of my mind
