I love rats and have currently got 11. They are a mix of black/brown hooded, cream, orange and almost pure black. I was tempted to breed but I'd have to keep all the babies as I couldnt trust anyone else with them and as I always have at least 8 rats, it would have been too many. People think I'm mad for the amount of money I spend on my rats. They get organic fruit and veg everyday, I make up their own base mix and recently spent a lot of money to have my girl spayed. I also spend quite a bit to have them indivually cremated.

I don't have rats anymore, but I've had six of them. Four hooded rats (3 black & 1 orange), one white and one blue. They were so smart and sweet. I had one male and he was the cuddliest thing ever. I love rats but I'm not getting any more because none of mine made it past 2 &1/2 years. It was too hard when they died. The first four died of cancer and the last two had asthma, so they were all sick for a while before they went and it was terrible.
Now I have a dog and I've told her she better make it to 12 at least because I've had my fill of putting pets to sleep.

I used to breed black and white fancy rats for a pet store. I loved those little rodents so much. One of them used to just ride around on my shoulder all day. :)

I owned two different rats at two different times, the first one was a baby, and he was gray and white but he wasn't a hooded rat. And the other one was a silver/smoke color, it was a young male.

I own three fancy rats, Greta, Mona, and Pooky. They're all so sweet and I'm in the process of designing a bigger cage to build so they have more room!

i have two really old ones(4 1/2 and 3 1/2 ,female and male)
o love them soooooooooo much one is a hooded white and brown and the other was wild born and my cousin is a teacher so her stupid high schoolers stole her and her littermates from the nest. she is healthy at almost 5 yrs old and a sweetie. my hooded is suuuuuuuuch a mama's boy! i love him and he attaches himself to me like glue!!!!

My daughter had a hairless one, he died, and we got another one, this time with hair. He is gray and white. They are the perfect pets!
