I just looked in Emily Post's book of Etiquette. It says "no" as you don't know for sure if the bride is wearing an ivory dress, and it isn't proper to wear anything resembling white to a wedding.

Girl, go ahead and wear you Ivory knee length dress with your gold accents to the wedding and hopefully you will find a nice available man and be walking down the aisle pretty soon yourself in your own dress.
But I hope your dress will be WHITE, not Ivory (LOL).
But don't forget to go and compliment the bride on how GOOD she looks in her wedding gown, that way if she does have a "TUDE" she will be over it when you flatter her.

yes that looks fine. the gold band defines you as a guest not the bride. you can wear anything formal/semi formal to a wedding just as long as you don't upstage the bride coz that is just plain rude.

No, that would not be appropriate. Ivory is very close to white, and that would be considered improper etiquette, as it would take attention away from the bride.

I think it's OK as long you are NOT an important family member and stand near the bride.
