Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.
I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.
You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.
The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

Life, as defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is "an organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction" and/or "the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual".
While definitions are nice, I am assuming that that is not the answer you are looking for. As I see it, life is the time that an organism spends on earth (or wherever else it may be), maintaining bodily functions, which nearly echoes the aforementioned definition.
In order to consider something a living organism, it must be able to react to outside stimuli, metabolize food, grow, and reproduce. There are many contentions with what science considers alive, viruses are a good example of this. Viruses are unable to reproduce on their own, they must first infect a host cell, which then creates copies of the original virus. That being said, it is hard to determine whether a virus is a living organism.
Life is a complicated subject, the only way we human beings can really tell that we are alive and sentient, is that we are able to ponder what exactly it means to be alive.

Physiological life is respiration, brain and organ function. Emotional life is being in touch with your feelings and pursuing your happiness, Philosophical life is the understanding of your purpose here on earth. Most often life is getting up in the mornings and doing what you normally do the best you know how to do it.

Life is simply another outlet for the energy in the universe to disperse itself. It is a very complex set of chemical reactions, that once set in motion, is self perpetuating. My question is whether the universe is bounded, and will energy simply continue to change from one form to another for infinity, or does our system slowly lose it's energy alltogether.

well it depends, if you don't believe in anything life isn't really anything, you're alive, you breath and you think and stuff.
But this isn't really much is it? there must be somehting more, right?
i believe life is existing, and we exist because God made humans and created the world for us to live in.
but what you believe is what you believe, so if you believe in nothing (that we weren't created and there is nothing after we die) then life isn't, well, anything!
