Do not shave your eyebrows. First, get them waxed at a salon so they can get the shape right and they will know how much to take out of the middle. Then you can maintain by waxing at home and tweezing. It's very easy, inexpensive and it really does not hurt. No worse that a rubber band snap.

Sorry if you have had a unibrow all your life people are going to notice something different about you.
I once had a unibrow (my dad wouldn't allow me to cut it because it was like his side of the family's trademark or something) and I remember the first time I had my eyebrows arched (9th grade) there was this guy named Jerry in my Accounting class and he couldn't quite pin point exactly what I had done to my face but he knew that something was different, I remember him coming up to me and asking, "Did you get a face lift?" I laughed so hard, to this day I laugh. I mean people commented on how hairy I was before, but I also got a lot of compliments.
Put just go get them arched either with a razor (since this is your 1st time) or have them plucked, waxed, or threaded. My very 1st time was with a razor, my hair stylist did it, then I went to have them waxed (it hurts but you get used to it), now I have them threaded it doesn't hurt (just a little pulling) and it last longer than waxing and the razor. It pulls from the shaft even more than waxing and the hair grows back thinnner and slower. I also pluck in between getting them threaded to maintain my arch. But have them done professionaly 1st.
I mean people might comment on it, but they will also like it. Especially if you have thick eyebrows (I do), you can do so much with them they can be shaped perfectly (salon professionals love woman with thick eyebrows you can really see the results and they can be shaped amazingly), believe me it is better to have more to work with than none at all. Before I knew anything about waxing I would get woman approaching me in the mall asking to wax my eyebrows (that is how bad it was), but they also new that they could shape them nice.
Once your eyebrows are arched it adds new dimensions to your face, it will definantly enhance your features if you get the right person to do it. So don't just stop at getting the middle part done get both eyesbrows shaped. You will love it
Of course it will require maintenance, you will have to keep them up and keep going to get them arched and shaped, but hey that is the price of beauty sometimes.
And if you don't like it you can always grow them back in, "Ugly Betty" -lol
Hope this helps
BTW: My father loves my eyebrows now

before each and every thing, you in no way use a razor at the same time as trimming your eyebrows. you are able to't administration a razor as a lot as you are able to different issues and they are somewhat huge. to any extent further purely use wax, tweezers, or thread them. there is somewhat no longer something you may do to cause them to boost speedier, so that you'll purely ought to attend it out. till then, you are able to fill them in with an eyebrow pencil or something, yet be certain it seems organic. you do not choose it to seem bizarre, lol.

I would go to a salon to have it waxed the first time. My daughter is half italian and she uses this tiny shaver called a bikini razor.... you want to make sure you go straight down and don't shave too much. The eye brows should start in a straight line above the inner corner of the eye.

My suggestion is to go to a professional to get it waxed and twee zed. The eyebrow defines the shape of the face and adds a lift to the eyes. If you do it at home you can take away from your natural beauty.

get them THREADED. it hurts less than wax and doesnt have the after affects like the red skin and stuff. costs about the same ($5 here). anything u do will be noticable but itd be better to be known as the girl who got her eyebrows done for a day than uni-girl for life.

don't shave. have a pro wax it for you. if not pluck according to the direction of growth so that it won't hurt as much and will not cause ingrown. shaving will leave small hard hairs that will just look freakish.

go in to a beauty salon. have them do a 'wax' for the first time to shape the brows. then maintain with a tweezer. men do this women do this, no big deal. wax is quick and easy for a man to do.
probably cost 12 bucks.

Firstly, don't worry - it WILL be obvious to anyone who knows you when they first see you after you change your eyebrows. They'll get used to it and eventually forget that you weren't always so nicely groomed.
Go to a salon and have a professional wax your eyebrows. If you try to do it yourself, you may make such a bad job of it that it draws extra attention to that area.
