I've been using the same battery pack for the last 2 years. And the battery or ac adapter for the laptop ,I mean the wire, melted. And ever since I got it repaired,it only charges for less than 30 minutes.Whereas before it charges upto 4 hours.I wanna know does this have to do anything with repairing or the battery pack needs to be changed?

It is probably a coincidence, but batteries go bad with time. 2 years is A LOT of time to get out of a laptop battery.

It is also possible that the bad AC adapter shorted the battery.
Both should be changed.

If you are saying the wire from the adapter to the laptop melted and it was repaired?? They should have given you new adapter....But if you got two years out of your battery Great!! It is time for a new one. Search your bateries part number and and the adapter ,Get both new, toss the old adapter and keep the battery (get the adapter first) and see if that fixes the problem , but I would say you need both. Hope that helps.

Most laptops (notebook computers) available use Lithium ion rechargeable batteries since they have a low weight and discharge slowly when not in use. However, they last for a shorter time compared to other batteries and can be dangerous when overheated. More information at http://fixit.in/laptopbattery.html
