It means that you feel no compassion for any other perrson, or thing. Like if you find the puppy on your doorstep, you would take the puppy in and take care of it.

Take the puppy in.Check the newspaper for lost dog.In my city it takes 3days for an ad to go in~(if you place the ad or the person that lost the dog).So check the lost section also. You can place a found ad for free. You can also ask around your house if anyone knows who the dog belongs to.Call the local animal shelter & ask if anyone called looking for it.Do not bring the dog to the shelter,,survival is slim to none once they are incarcerated,,lol. If they tell you that they wont tell you unless you bring the dog in,,hang up.If the owner is looking for it they will see your ad.Check signs in the neighborhood that they may have posted to find it.If no one claims the dog,,keep it(could be your new best friend),,or find it a new home by word of mouth or placing an ad or signs. Please be kind. The dog is probably scared & hungry & could easily get hit by a car.Good luck,,now do the right thing.

Empathy is commonly defined as one's ability to recognize, perceive and directly experientially feel the emotion of another. Anyway, look into your neighbourhood and find its owner else call upon a local vet and give the dog to them.

Well, pretend that you do have empathy.that means, take the puppy into your home and keep it; feed it, give it water and keep it safe until you can find the owner. How do you find the owner? Call up radio stations and tell them you found a lost dog.

Honestly I find it hard to empathize with a puppy. But they are basically saying that you lack the ability to put yourself in the other person's shoes when deciding how to treat them.

But a puppy... even I couldnt do that one

Um, take it to animal control because the owner is looking for it.

If that was just a bizarre analogy I didn't get then it's ok not to be empathetic...most empaths end up used and abused.
