Every war from the Revolution to Iraq and Afghanistan. My cousin was shot several times while saving his patrol from an ambush in Afghanistan, according to one of the members that made it out with him. An Irish relative was shot defending his home from the British during the American Revolution. Two more died fighting for the Union to free slaves. My father was in the Navy during Korea, I was in the Army during Viet Nam. I am not ashamed of any of my relatives.

a great-great uncle who was a courier for custer-- he left just before the raid that killed all at the alamo- my father who was in the korean war aboard a submarine,then transferred to a fletcher class destroyer in 1943-- thats all i can think of until i do the rest of my geaneology.

My brother in law has been stationed in Qatar during this past year.

Grandfather faught in WWII (my aunt has a newspaper of his from the day the war ended).

Where would you be now if he hadn't? My brother is in the Air Force and spent time in Iraq. I'll thank him for you! And you're right...........you should be ashamed!! But for other reasons

You should not be ashamed of your heritage, especially for a reason like that. My husband has served in Iraq and I couldn't be more proud.
