My son is 18 months. He drools so much he's getting a rash under his chin. His pediatrician said it's normal and that his molars/eye teeth are coming in. Sometimes they take a long time.
I have a friend who's baby had some sort of disorder where she drooled too much. She had to wear a bib all the time to not get a rash. She was only 2 months old, though.

My nephew is almost 2 too. He goes through periods when he drools like a fountain. It is his back teeth coming in even though you may not see it. They drool so much they cannot swollow fast enough, plus I don't think it's his instinct yet to swllow his own saliva. If you really don't think it's teething, check with your pediatrician. Or if you have that book, "What to Expect..." for toddlers.

He needs more teeth to come in, then the drooling will stop. But, because of your concern, best to ask his pediatrician about it to set your mind at ease.

Some babies drool more than others. Nothing to worry about. When he is older he will learn to not let it spill out -- except when sleeping. You'll be changing pillowcases often!

My nephew drooled for about his first 3 years. I found it disgusting but the doctors all said he would outgrow it eventually and he did. My kids only did it during teething times but my nephew did it all day every day.

If you are really concerned that something might be wrong, you should call his peditrician. Sounds to me like he is teething. Keep a bib on him and watch for any signs of sickness.

I really hate to say this, and I'm not a medical professional what so ever, but he could have Downs'. Get him to your family doctor's to see if this is normal.
