I agree. The days of originality is gone. Music that was once wrote from a musicians heart, is now written by someone that is just collecting a check. MTV, which was one known as music television is nothing less of a commercialized sell out that doesn't even play music. Everything is so politically correct and processed it makes me sick. P.S American Idol is killing talent as we know it.

Same thing that has always happened to popular music. You start with a genre that is fresh--rock n roll, rockabilly, folk, rap, rhythm and blues, bubble gum, whatever--and as it becomes popular and catches on it transforms from form into formula, everybody who wants to record that kind of song insists on "following the pattern," and writers and performers become more interested in making money than music. Eventually, there will be more outstanding new voices to be heard...you just have to make the effort to listen for them.
Like the Four Tops said: It's the same old song.

There is still good music out there, you just have to dig to find it. If you can, you might want to try to listen to a radio show called "Sound Opinions" (link below). I really enjoy it and it's one of the few ways I find out about good albums/artists. And no, nobody's paying me to say that, but if anyone wants to, please send the check to ____... j/k

It just got harder to find. There are still plenty of good original bands out there, the crappy ones just keep multiplying.
