she is six months old. She is not breast feed because of my breast implants. She has been drinking from liquid formula and recently (one week) she doesn't want to drink formula milk anymore, because all she wants is water and gerber food. She likes to drink water more than the milk. Mabe her throat is infected or the nippel on the bottle is to small and hard for her to suck. The water is thinner than the milk so it would be easier to drink?

. I breastfed all 4 of my babies and my last baby decided on her own at about 7 or 8 months that she no longer wanted to be breastfed but wanted to do as her sister did and have a sippy cup so she went right from breast to cup . you might try a sippy cup and see if your baby likes that better than the bottle or try watering down her formula a bit .
As far as her throat being infected has she been running a fever ? does she pull at either of her ears? (common with babies who are still nursing ,breast or bottle, ) pulling ears maybe a sign of an ear infection and that can make the baby feel awful ,fussy not much appetite etc.

I would not advise this at this age without first talking to the child's doctor. Cow's milk is missing a lot of the vitamin and mineral additives that are in formula and are important for the baby's nutrition.

check with the doctor. it could be you need the next size up on nipples, i would try that. she is a little young to be switched to whole milk, ask the doc, maybe you can switch her to whole milk and supplement the vitamins with poli-v-sol (emfamil liquid infant vitamins). you can always thin out the formula by adding more water, maybe then she will be more inclined to drink it. dont fret talk to the doc and im sure everything will be fine. good luck and congrats on your baby!!!

You should see your pedi. immediately at six months formula should be the main source of nutrition. If she hasn't had any in a week that is very bad.

Take her to the doctor if all is well try a faster flow nipple. She needs the formula that should be her #1 sourse of nutrition, not baby food

It is good for her to drink water. but at six months its also good for her to drink gerber juice , it's good for her that she does'nt want milk anymore , it just means that it won't be hard for you to take the bottle away and plus she's getting more proteins from the food. at least your baby eats, my seven month baby won't eat her food anymore.
