I pay rent and utilities . Everything is in his name . The problem is he's a bit of a "control freak" and has the thermostat on a timer . Plus he's already gone to bed . if I turn it on he'll know I touched it . Should I just turn it on ? My baby and I are cold .

Well you dont have a heater to stare at do you?... Turn it on... But be reasonable about it.. set it at a temperature you can just tolerate past cold... its still a good thing to conserve energy, but you need to keep baby warm

I was married to someone like that for 16 years. If you are paying the rent and utilities, why are you allowing him to take over?

Why should he care if you are paying for it?Your baby comes first.Get a back bone.I bought a little heater for about 10$ that works great ,,you might want to get one of those.

Turn it on and leave a nice note explaining that you were cold. If you pay the utilities, I don't see how he can get mad.
