I am 38 weeks pregnant and at 35 weeks i was closed and high. Then my midwife suggested 5-w by natures sunshine and by 36 weeks i was 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. then at 37 weeks I was 2 cm and 60-% effaced and now i am going in 2 days for my 38 weeks and i am having contractions. I think if you want to speed it up get 5-w.

It seems like the people answering don't know much, so prob. shouldn't answer. Two time exp. mom, I will tell you, there's noth ing you can do. When the time comes, it will happen! I was 10 days late with my first and sex doesn't work. The doc says it only works if you truly are almost there. Otherwise, just enjoy having it bc you won't be able to for 6-8 wks after. Just be patient bc God only knows why you're baby isn't out yet. He/she is safe in there. When he/she is ready, you will know and the time will fly so enjoy it. It gives you more time to prepare. Oh my gosh, and don't ask to be induced unless your doctor recommends it. It's worse than natural labor (as I've been told many, many times).

Well when I was 41 weeks my husband made a Chinese style dinner Spicy beef with red onions and peanuts. It was so good and I finally went into labor that night at like 4 am. But that was also after weeks of walking and that other thing that made the baby to begin with!

Stay active - walking, working, errands ... I know it gets really hard at the end of your pregnancy but, don't be too eager. Remember your body and baby know what they're doing. You will go into labor when your body and baby are ready. This is best for your baby and you.

Good luck to you.

I was 3 days past my due date and my Dr. was talking about inducing (which I didn't want.) I took a friend's advice and walked around the gym and up and down the bleachers for an hour. Then I went out and had some really spicy Mexican food. It worked for me!

I realize you are anxious to meet your bundle of joy. Bear in mind once he/she is out, you cannot just get dressed and run out for day, you now have a bundle of joy to dress, feed and all other things before you "run" out for day...
Not saying there might not be something where you might have to have baby early, but, so much easier on you and baby if you wait until nature takes its course and let baby be born when baby is ready.

I hope you are at least 37 weeks (full term) but sex & walking are about the only safe things you can do that may help.
