1. I always use a fake tree because I hate the idea of killing innocent trees for the purpose of putting them in a house for a few weeks and then throwing them away.
2. I use garland only right now because I don't want my three year old or my cat eating the tinsel. There's nothing worse than pulling tinsel out of your cat's butt.
3. I love colored lights. I think that white lights are way too traditional and boring. Besides color is so much more fun.
4. There are no presents under my tree right now because they are hiding from the 5 kids until the night before Christmas after they go to bed when my husband and I can put them under the tree without fear of anyone getting into them beforehand. Not to mention Santa comes the night before Christmas....

2. Garland (no tinsel because the cats would eat it)
3. It's a fiber optic tree, so the fiber optic lights are colored but we put white on as well.
4. We don't put the presents under the tree til christmas morning. They would just give the cats a boost to knock more ornaments off the tree.

We have an artificial tree with no tinsel. We've had red, white and blue lights since 9/11. Only 2 sorry little presents under it right now. Going shopping tomorrow!

Real trees rock, we even go out and cut ours!

Both white and colored lights, we like variety
I think theres four under the tree. We usually wait till closer to christmas or people cheat!

fake tree, garland and icicles, colored lights, 15 gifts (many were opened over the Thanksgiving holiday when my granddaughter and daughter were here since they couldn't come back for Christmas)
