You are looking at the question from your cultural background, not theirs. You almost certainly can't think of anything, but that is because you don't believe in a reward in heaven (even if you might pay lip-service to the idea).
These people have been carefully selected and groomed; told that they will be rewarded in heaven; 42 virgins will be waiting for them there, to do their every bidding, and they will live for ever in a perfect situation. If you really believed that, wouldn't you do whatever it took to get there? How would it feel to be just 10 minutes away from 42 eager virgins and a perfect life? Five minutes? two minutes? one minute?
Quite exciting?
Well there is their motivation
Isn't it the same as jumping out of a trench and rushing at an enemy machine gun? The only difference is that rushing the machine gun is a one on one situation. But what is the motivation that made tens of thousands of people do that?

You must understand the society in which many of them live. They do not have happiness to live for as we do in America. By blowing themselves up, they escape this earth and are guaranteed a place in utopia, according to their beliefs. Additionally, it is a great honor to die in such a way. The government also rewards the family monetarilly. When it boils down, they escape the wretched life they live, they become heros and their family is taken care of. I've seen videos where a young boy of perhaps 8 years old watches the video tape of his father going on a "mission." He is so proud to watch his father blow himself up in a convoy that it is almost beyond comprehension to the western mind. To understand "homicide bombers" i believe you must understand what the shoe feels like on the other foot.

Suicide or Homicide bombers are all brainwashed from an early age......a bit like cult brainwashing i think.......so no, i couldn't even begin to imagine wanting to blow myself up or anyoe else for that matter......i was never brainwashed and never will be!

I have no bad idea about Muslims.
However I don't think that the Homicide Bombers are braves !
On TV, they often say that they will go to heaven and have their 7 virgins.....What about their freedom or nationalism ?...For me they are stupid..Or better they have never receive enough education so they cannot think by theirself !

They are stupid and insane with a front of bravery.
There is nothing that would make me strap a bomb to me only to kill myself and others completely innocent. Only if I was in a completely dire situation would I even consider it. Like, I watched this movie once and there were these nurses trapped by some German soldiers. In order to escape, one of them took a grenade out with her and blew herself up so that the others could go free.

They are brainwashed into believing that they will go straight to heaven and have 70 virgins for company. Shows how thick they are I would rather stay here and have one good looking experienced woman for company.

there being braught up to believe murder is ok if it isnt one of your ownand marterdom is a thing the priest or president can give you for doing what your told there being used as walking bombs by monsters that wouldnt no courage if it blew them up i just hope they can be forgiven and the ones that sent them out dammed the goverments that stand by and watch it happen included
