during a period do you gain any weight and if so how many pounds or kilos on average? im just wondering because i feel bloated sometimes. help needed! thanks

Oh I hate that, but yup water weight & sometimes constipation, not to mention I do that emotional eating thing right before it starts as well.

Yes you really do gain weight. You havewater weight. I dont know how much but my wedding dress almost didnt fit because of it. I had it altered a week before and I have very random periods (I started on my wedding day! :{ But I had gained enough weight that week that I almost didnt fit. and couldnt wear a bra or they would have popped out!! If it gets too bad, you can take pills made for water weight loss due to periods. Go to walgreens and someone there will be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

I feel like I gain about 4 or 5 lbs. My tummy gets really big and I just feel heavier. I believe its mostly water. My period is usually not that heavy and I still gain the weight.

I am not sure exactly. Thats a good question. I dont "think" you gain anything but if you do I am sure its from water since we become bloated. I know I am about to start in a few days and I feel blah!

I usually gain a couple of pounds in water weight during my period. It sucks when none of your pants will fit for three days!

We retain more fluids, it averages 3 to 5 lbs.....The bloated feeling comes from your intestinal tract being inflamed, very common before our cycle.....pain though isn't it!

Usually around 5. but this can vary from woman to woman.
