i should think so, if the usb port on the cable box is an output. I record video onto my computer all the time with usb. I do believe you need software though. I think windows movie maker will let you capture video. Something like dazzle video recorder will most definetly let you do it though, thats what i use. good luck!

You cannot transfer video over USB with a USB cable. You will need to buy a USB ethernet adapter to transfer video to your computer using Tivo's Desktop software.
