I am trying to research what our president has done that is viewed as something good by the majority of Americans. Please help.

I am also trying to find out at least 5 bad things that Bush has done during his Administration that the majority of Americans would agree are "bad" or have negatively affected us.

I am trying to educate myself and become more open minded. Doesn't anyone have any serious answers? There has to be something, whether you agree with it or not, that has helped someone.

Good - well, he cleared out the brush at his ranch in Crawford. He also gave Barney, his dog, a chew toy and some Milk Bone doggie biscuits. For the country, he hasn't done much good. The best thing he could do would be to resign.
Bad - 1. Misleading the American people about Iraq. Iraq had about as much to do with 9/11 as John McCain.
2. His adamant refusal that he was wrong about Iraq and his steadfast insistence there were terrorists there. There weren't then, but there are now.
3. Aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina victims, many of whom are still waiting for promised federal aid.
4. His lessening of environmental emissions controls on plants that burn coal as fuel, thus adding to the problem of global warming. And, let's just add to that his refusal to sign the Kyoto Accord.
5. His selling out to Big Oil in agreeing to open up the Arctic to drilling. And, we can add to this environmental catastrophe, selling out to the lumber companies to allow cutting in virgin wilderness areas.
Hell - do I have to stop at 5? I'm just getting warmed up!

Bush Junior did not have a clue about economics and after eight years he still does not have a clue Why would you think he has a clue when even know he is going back and forth with the Big Three Bail OUT? I don't think Bush jr. knows a lot of stuff about anything but bull chit and taking vacations Bush Junior had more vacations then the past Record Holder Ronald Reagan..both slept their way through eight years as being POTUS

Not sure what he has accomplished other than piss off everyone including conservatives. He is making the mark of a poor president as noted by this historical poll of US Presidents as seen in today's USA Today.

1. Lowered taxes for the rich ( i don't know what planet the dude who said he lowered taxes for everyone is from, but obviously it's not this one)
2. Made his billionaire oil cronies even richer allowing them to price oil as high as they do, instead of threatening to go elsewhere like Clinton did.
3. Made the entire world scared of us. (Some people view this as a good thing.)
4. He is a master of misdirection. ie. confusing and taking advantage of the entire country while he was beating his drum to attack Iraq by saying they were connected to 9/11.
5. Environmental and Educational standards are now at an all time low.

1) His economic policies helped to end a bad recession.
2) He lead the country after 911 and kept our moral up.
3) His policies created new jobs (less than 5% unemployment)
4) He has brought respect back to the White house
5) TOOK Saddam Hussein & his sons out of power allowing Iraqi people to vote etc...
6) He has been effective at rooting out terrorist, killing or capturing them. (no attacks on U.S. soil after 911)

I can't think of one that would be viewer by the majority of Americans as good. There is a very vocal minority who support many of his policies, but I believe that minority is shrinking every day.

1.showed how when people were languishing in New Orleans that you can all ways have a prayer circle in the White House.
2. That when you have prayer circles it is always important to have photographers available to show how devote he is.
3. Then if any one criticizes him he could say it was anti-religious or heresy.

5) set aside a large amount of ocean as a wild life refuge
