There are so many questions here where the obvious answer is that the person is bisexual. What is the true definition of sexual orientation and why are so many people stating that sexual orientation is something that people are born with? For example, the statement "I was born gay" keeps popping up, but the statment "I was born straight" or " I was born bisexual" doesn't, why is this so ?

i dont think you are born gay i mean its a choice you make wether you like girls or guys and if your gay or lesbian then thats your decision but why do ppl not say i was born straight i i think because there are more straight ppl than gay ppl and you wouldnt want to have everybody walking up to each other and asking everyone they see,"are you gay or straight or bi?"

I believe that you are born either straight gay or bi. Why would I chose to be a lesbian when society looks down on us? I didn't wake up one day and say hey I want to be a lesbian. Everyone treats gays and lesbians like animals or worse. Why would we chose to be treated this way? Think about it would you all wake up one day saying you want to be gay or lesbian or is it something you crave and just aren't happy without. That if you are straight that you won't be happy so I guess I did choose to be a lesbian because I would rather be happy then like half the people out there just a closet case

They say it as a defense. When do you hear people persecuting someone for being straight? You never hear someone say "You CHOSE to be straight." So they don't have to say it, because it just seems obvious that straight people were born that way. And I don't think bi-sexual is something that people are born with, I think it's a society thing.
And even if gay people did choose to be that way, so what? It's not hurting anyone and it makes them happy.

i do no longer believe it incredibly is defined, because of the fact to grant it a definition might make it into something, that's the choice of no longer something. when I examine the be conscious "nothingness" what I see in my suggestions is that this: The hum of the universe fading to quietness--no longer seeing it incredibly is quiet, yet because of the fact each little thing interior of ones self is attuned with it (style of like a smell will pass away with out postpone given which you get used to it.) Then, out of the stillness, there is nothingness. *shrug*

Because we are constantly defending ourselves from people who say we whimsically decide to sin against god and "be gay"... Like it has no real part of who we are at the very core of our beings. It is the religious idiots who have started this "born gay" distraction in hopes to undermine positively identified gay people's self esteems. Who cares if we are or not "born gay"!! I'm attracted to men, and I fantasize about being sexual in all kinds of ways with them... PERIOD!

My question is where did the word "Gay" originate? How is it associated with homosexuality? I always thought that gay meant happy. Are all gays happy? From what I've read it doesn't seem that way.
