Such a very open-ended question can only get a very open-ended answer. An attribute is a quality ascribed to an object or concept. Paint might be blue; color is an attribute of the paint. A house might be large; size is an attribute of the house. A person might be smart; intelligence is an attribute of the person. An idea might be impractical; practicality is an attribute of the idea. Etcetera and so forth.

The Buddha is said to have 32 attributes and these are unique qualities and traits that define his person. Hence an attribute is something that is characteristic of, or helps to define, or identify such a one.

Though paint is often regarded as a single artistic medium, there are many different types of paint out there, each with unique properties. Each is made with a different type of binder (the substance that holds the pigment together) and used with a different type of solvent (the substance used to thin out the paint, making it easier to work with and blend). If you're a novice or hobby painter, you may not know what type is best for you. Here are the properties of the five most common types of paint https://tr.im/Ve4Oc
