Sweetie you just had a baby, don't expect to be super model skinny yet. Your body is still recovering from the miracle you just had. Relax April 21 gives you plenty of time to get down to the size you want to be on your big day. instead of cutting out coffee, remember for every cup make sure you drink 2 glasses of water, junk food gone (but treat yourself every now and again), instead of going to the gym, take your baby for an hour long walk every day, that way you will get out and still enjoy time with your child. Try dancing, its the best exercise, do it at home for as long as you want, go crazy, jump around, get you heart rate up & let the music take you away. Also include some skipping, its a fat burner & this really works. Just remember to eat normaly but cut out things you know are fatening... good luck and dont strees. congratulations for your big day.

I have lost over 40 pounds on the South Beach diet and going to the gym on average 4 days a week. At first I was scared of South Beach because it seemed too "gourmet". BUT he does break your "allowed" foods into a simple list (so you can just make up your own meals/ recipes) and I have now been on it for over a year. No kidding, if I can do it anyone can. I used to buy whole birthday cakes and eat them by myself. Now I eat only healthy, good foods and I DO NOT eat fast food except a salad from Wendy's!!!! AND South Beach allows you to enjoy your morning coffee (although I use Splenda).

It would depend on where most of the weight is at. If anything do a hundred crunches those for days. Walk every chance you get. Dont drink coffee everyday. Get out paper and for each day that you are able to work out write down some exercises. Make sure that each day is a different work out but have two of those days correspond with like your upper body and the other two with your lower body.

Okay a few tips:

-Be realistic. Know yourself... if you think that a salad is what you should eat but you're starving then later in the day you will probably end up bingeing on a pizza (or your choice food vice) and then you'll be upset. Try to eat balanced meals.. forget any fads like cutting out carbs etc. Just eat reasonably-sized portions things like meat with a veggie and potatoes.

-Cut out calories you forget you're consuming: That extra teaspoon of mayo on your sandwich adds up. That can of coke or even glass of juice... the handful of candies you take from the candy dish in the office... if you're cooking dinner the taste tests all add up. Try to monitor what you put in your body very closely because you'd be surprised at what you're consuming that you didn't even realize.

-Drink lots of water. Not so much you're always running to the bathroom... just drink it and don't drink pop or even juice. It'll also keep you fuller.

-SLOW DOWN when you eat. I really need to learn this myself. If you can control your portions then try to eat less than you think you'd want... eat slooowly and see if you're still hungry. You probably won't be. Never eat just because you were raised to "finish every bite".

-Your idea of drinking tons of coffee might not be such a hot idea especially if you put sugar in it. Is coffee even healthy? And i doubt to get a proper stimulating effect, a cup or two is even enough. It's mostly in the mind I think.

-Walk whenever you can. Walk up the stairs... park further from the store... take your new baby on walks... clean the house as often as you can... try to make everything more physically difficult and you'll burn calories.

-Your gym time you say you can do if you really stick to it will do you wonders. Do as much weight training as you can (start with small weights)... it helps your metabolism run faster.

-Buy small weights and do several sets of reps before bed and when you wake up. Every little bit helps.

-Don't deprive yourself. Your goal of fitting into your wedding dress is a great motivation, but to keep the weight off is a lifestyle change.. not a diet. Just relax, know you'll get there, and realize you can't cut out everything, some days you will overeat, but the next day you can get back on track. Exercise and healthier eating habits will become easier as time goes on.

-Remember you're getting married because he loves YOU so don't fret too much. Take baby steps. Imagine yourself in your wedding dress to keep you going, and soon you will lose the 30 lbs you want.

-One more thing is avoid temptation by removing it. If there's no cookies in the house you won't be tempted to eat them. Make low-fat/calorie home-made popsicles if you crave something sweet.

GOOD LUCK! =D

It won't be easy but you have to commit yourself to form a good eating pattern with moderate excercise, Eat a well balanced breakfast and lunch, and a very light dinner such as a salad and try not to eat after 6pm, do cut out the junk foods and sugars, It will be worth it in the long run, congrats on your forthcoming marriage.

I think you will have enough time to lose 30 pounds by April. I have had two children, my baby just turned 1 and I gained 70 pounds with her and had a complicated pregnancy. After she was born I exercised, and dieted. Examples include: Denise Austin workouts and walking. I also stuck to Slim-fast and Smart Ones. Just stay determined and focused and you can do it. Good luck!!!

How did you find your body fat percentage? 32% body fat is actually quite low for someone who is 40lb overweight.

If you can get your body fat percentage down to below 30%, that would be considered healthy and if you can get it below 25%, that would be ideal.

But I doubt you would need to lose 30lb to 40lb to achieve this. Some of your excess weight may come from having larger bones or muscle if your body fat percentage is currently 32%.

HTH : )

Mix up your work outs... cardio and weights. Weights also give really nice muscle tone, and burn calories faster. You can do it! Coffee is not a bad thing... just drink lots of water so you are properly hydrated, and skip the cream and sugar. Black actually tastes better. Best Wishes... and congratulations!
