It's a biased question that is more of a reflection upon where you live. I'm assuming that where you live, this is true. But I live in TX and very few people are associated with unions as they are incredibly unpopular here.

Why pay 50 bucks a month for just 10 cents more an hour in pay, and be stuck at a because of senority system no way, bettter to work for merit than giving promotion based on senority.

Unions force you to PAY to be part of their boys and girls club or you can't work with them...how free is that?
