I have gone to the police with actual proof, and they went to his house and "talked" to him. He admitted to stalking me and said it will never happen again. all he dies is follow me around, prank call me, watch my house from a distance...all that crap. It seems that he knows that he's doing just enough so that I can't get a restraining order. In the state of Maine he can intimidate me to tears, but until he threatens to harm me and I have some proof of it, I can't do a thing! Today when I was home alone with my babies (I live way out in the country) he pulled his car into my driveway and turned around in it!!! It is as if he was trying to tell me that he is still out there and he's not going anywhere!!! What am I supposed to do???

tough to move when my husband has a good job that he uses to support his family, my child is in school, and we are settled here in our house. moving is always easier said than done. we were both born and raised here, it would be like taking a fish out of water.

Keep a journal of each of his actions. Document what he was doing, where and when. If possible, video tape him or take a picture. Then go to the police and provide them your journal and then request a restraining order again. Be CERTAIN to record everything in a journal.

In the mean time, contact the Stalking Resource Center (1-800-FYI-CALL) and tell them of your problem. They will know how to navigate the legal system and should provide assistance of some sort in finding you an advocate.

No do not move! I feel that is the worst thing you can do. As far as Maine laws go I am really not to sure? You can get advice from any laywer. Usually some free advice. I think theres a womens victim chat room. I would also think theres a toll free Womens hotline for advice in your state? I do not know your entire situation. Though you must be scared. Do you have some friends or family who can stay with you? So they can also witness? I would think the Police after awhile if they have not already told him to watch his step. In our State Domestic Violence is taking very seriously. So sorry to hear that. Check out some Domestic Violence sites even look for places near you. Hope this helped somewhat?

Continue to keep records of his harassment. Take a self defense course just in case. Maybe move closer to town to be on the safe side. You have to protect your children 1st & foremost. Please contact your state's attorney general to see what you can do,since you cannot get a restraining order against him & he is just below harming you. Have you tried to contact a local attorney to see if there is something you can do legally besides a restraining order? Good luck!!

have you told the police that?
because if something isn't done something serious could happen.
maybe if you tell the police that u fear for you life, then they might do something.
Maybe you should start to keep a journal of what he does, then bring it to the police for proof or take pictures or video of him doing whatever it is to scare you then bring it to the police,
that might work.
hope i helped in some way!
good luck .
be safe!

Do you own a weapon? If not get one and get instructed how to use it. Get a big mean watch dog. Keep calling the police so you will have it on record that he has been on your property. Good luck and stay safe.
