There is no way local can not influence us. Voting for levies to fund snow plows in Florida....I do not want to vote for taxes that I feel will not help society as a whole. The party view the public view. I just makes sense.

I don't think peoples opinions are influenced by their area as much as their family values. Also people are very heavily influenced by what is shown on TV. All you have to do is show a picture of something, tell them several times and they blindly follow. So I think there are a lot more elements at work than just the locale.

I live in Minnesota urban areas full of socialists lite wannabes. The older i got more libertarian i got living in Minnesota, because in Utah things back 10 years ago were a lot cheaper than Minnesota. The cost of living in Minnesota high taxes eat up a money than most places. I want to live back in southwest where costs are cheaper. Not much a social con, but I do believe the government cant provide everything for every social ill out-there.

Not true...I was born and raised in the blue state of Washington...and I'm independent.
I believe that people should have to work hard and take personal responsibility in their life, unlike the neo-libs that live in the Seattle/Tacoma area.
I was stationed in Pennsylvania and Maine, both blue states too, and still didn't agree with it.

Sometimes that's true. However, I was born and mostly raised in a very liberal "blue" state (Washington) and I'm a moderate conservative Republicrat.
