Well lucky for some women they don't. Pregnancy is such a remarkable thing to begin with. Women have more fat on their body's for a reason. It relates to the primitive thing. If there was no food to be found a woman could feed her unborn child off of the fat stores in her own body. Once the baby is born you still hang on to some of the weight to produce milk(Breasts also weight more when they are producing weight ). More water is retained and it just takes time for your body to recover. Women also tend to be a little stressed after the birth and may turn to food. It can take up to a year for a woman's body to return to normal.

Try carrying a baby around for 9 months...at the end you don't feel like moving much. The weight is more difficult to lose because the skin is stretched. It can be lost but is difficult. You also are tired with having to keep up with the baby and have less time and desire to go to the gym.

Your right! When I was born I was 8 pound and now I'm up to a whoppin' 112 pds after 2 kids. When is it going to end? I should call a doctor! My weight has sky rocketed after my mother gave birth to me. :)
Just teasing....Everyone is different and has different reasons for being heavy just like people have different reasons for being insensitive.

I always start to gain weight when my babies are about 6 months old and then lose it after they stop breastfeeding. It's almost like my body stores everything I eat to make milk. I don't know why this happens.

well if you breast feed like me, all the weight came off like within the same week! But little did I expect as soon as I stopped breast feeding I gained like 20 lbs. When you are pregnant your body gets used to burning up alot of calories, because lets face it being a baby factory takes alot of calories, and then when suddenly the factory is shut down, there is nothing there to burn all those calories. and us women thought being pregnant made us gain weight.
