Why in the world would you want to tell such a thing,true or not. That should be between you and your wife. How do you think he will react? MAD, SAD, GLAD,or DISAPPOINTED in you for telling him such a thing. If you love your wife and son don't ruin the respect he has for his mom. It might backfire and he won't have anything to do with you. Think before you speak.

Does it really matter how you met her? If you really must tell him, just say that you were looking through a magazine and saw this beautiful woman that you wanted to get to know better, so you made contact with her. The two of you felt an instant connection and wanted to be together for the rest of your lives. How's that?

Well i dont think you should keep it from him but then again some people do keep secrets just so you dont make them have certain feelings that upset the both of you.
if you really want to tell him then just tell him as long as hes old enough to understand

There is no need. It is irrelevant and the least significant in you and your son's growth.
Someday the question may come up and it can be answered that you parents connected through corresponding with each other.
Truth can be expressed in many ways.

Do tell him. It is not a big deal. Be thankful that you found her, it does not matter where. You have the hang up, tell your priest or pastor, but dont tell you son. You love his Mother, that is enought.

First, make sure he is old enough to understand. If you feel like he needs to know (I am in doubt) then just sit him down and explain that your marriage did not start normally. Give him the basics. Only go into details if he asks questions.
