Oxygen sensor?

Question

how many oxygen sensor is there in a ford contour V-6?? Somebody say two and i believe is two, but someone mentioned once that there are 4.... help

If it's a '95 there would only be two. If it's a '96 to '99, there are four. Two upstream O2 sensors, and two downstream, which are catalyst monitors. They are not very easy to replace on that particular car either. The catalytic converters on those cars are famous for failing.

On a 96+ Contour, there are 2 Heated oxygen sensors upstream from the catalytic converter, and (what ford calls) 2 Catalyst monitors(which are pretty much oxygen sensors) downstream from the catalyst.

some cars have 2.. an upstream sensor and a downstream sensor.
need more info. what year?

only the 95 with the 2.0 & 2.5 had only 1 sensor. the 96 and newer all had ONLY 2 sensors. not 4.

i own a repair shop,and if its a v-6 it does have 4 on it,,it has two updraft ones,,and two down draft ones on it,,they told you right,,all the newer v-6 engines do have 4 on them,,this way the 0-2 content is measured both ways,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

Go to a Ford dealer and ask.
or
inspect your exhaust system from front to the cat.

there are two of them one is located in the intake mainfoil and the other one is the exhaust
