have had vehicles with same complaint written on work order.believe it or not ,the fuel filter was the cause.more throttle you give it means later shifts.

start small and see if you can get the transmission filter changed and inspected while its open to see if there is any metal peices floating around

try giving it a tune up.. after the tune up get it checked out
