The right-hand drive is perfectly legal.
If there's a "catch" to it,,,it's that all cars imported into USA must meet Federal Standards.

Here are some dumb laws from NC- It's against the law to sing off key. Elephants may not be used to plow cotton fields. While having sex, you must stay in the missionary position and have the shades pulled. If a man and a woman who aren't married go to a hotel/motel and register themselves as married then, according to state law, they are legally married. All couples staying overnight in a hotel must have a room with double beds that are at least two feet apart. It is illegal to have sex in a churchyard. Oral sex is considered a crime against nature. A marriage can be declared void if either of the two persons is physically impotent. Roadkill may be taken home for supper. It is legal for a male to have sex with an animal as long as it does not exceed 40 lbs. No children may attend school with their breath smelling of "wild onions.

It's actually a very interesting Q! The Post people drive the right hand drive all the time, don't they! And, I seem to remember two or three others on the roads in USA! Can't be illegal, but you'll drive some others too curious and maybe, crazy, on the roads: and, of course, you would need to be very very careful yourself!

Nope! It's totally legal. I have friends who race and they said certain cars that are on the tracks are right hand drive. Have fun. It takes some getting used to to drive on that side.

As far as i know, NO.....it does make it difficult to pass slower traffic on a 2-lane road tho, be very very careful.
As for legalities, if you can register it in yer state, you can drive it anywhere in the US
