I know, I know...blah blah blah..it's all about the "christmas spirit", ....as long as that spirit involves you pulling out your wallet!!!

I am not trying to be a downer on anyones Christmas, it's just that....

it seems like it has become this big commercial MONSTER feeding off of credit card sales, and the ching-ching of cash registers.

anyone else feel this way?

Christmas is about love and sacrifice... i think people are too lazy to show those feelings, so they take the easy path, the one paved in visas and mastercards... there are folks that think that buying extravagent things shows love... poor folks...

Its true that it is all very commercial. I suppose this is because we are "plugged into" the commercial side of Christmas everywhere we turn. TV, Radio or anywhere you practically go. We are pre-programed to consciencly or unconsciously feel guilty if we don't buy something nice for our loved ones. I personally think Christmas should be magical for children and they should receive gifts. As for adults I think that we should call a truce on buying gifts for each other or at least not go so overboard with expensive gifts. Many times we buy out of obligation and the person receiving the gift ends up returning it anyway.

Its like valentines day and sweetest day. It is a day that the stores all have sales and jack the prices 500% for a 50% off sale.
