I was eating my lunch at a Chinese Restaurant. Minding my own buisiness, just eating my lunch thinking about Christmas shopping. This strange woman in the table next to mind, wrinkles up her nose and says "EWW, is that raw fish". I replied, no this is my lunch and looked away. Again she said, "Yeah but is that raw fish". Again I said "It was was lunch and would appreicate if she paid attention to her lunch and left me and my lunch alone. It was her, another female and a man. The guy jumped up from his chair and hollered "Fu_ _ that white Bit_ _, she wants to be like that because we are black". No I believe they were being rude. It seems like one of the 3 would have seen I was offended and that bugging strangers about their food is rude. Was he the racist or me? Do you agree they were being very ill-manner or was I in my reply?

The woman and the guy were both definitely out of line. It's nobody's concern what you're eating, and she should have gotten the hint after the first time that you said it was your lunch.

And blaming your reaction on your skin color is pure racism on the guy's part. What on earth does your race have to do with asking someone to mind their manners and leave you alone while you eat?

Maybe you could have been a little more diplomatic when you answered. Something to the effect of, "This is (name of the dish), and if you'd like to know more about it, why don't you talk to the waiter? He could tell you more."

But the bottom line is that you were well within your rights to ask to be left alone to enjoy your meal.

He was being racist by calling you a white b*tch. You could have just said yes to the ladies question. But I also get harrassed for what I eat and I'm sick of it too. I probably would have said the same sort of thing. Sounds like he was trying to pick a fight. And if you were in a Chinese Restaurant, they should have realised that yes it probably was raw fish .

Don't stress over it.

They where the ones being racist. Just because there where black does not mean they can't be racist. The fact that they found it appropriate behavior to make comments about what someone is eating only shows how ignorant they are. And as you know racism comes from ignorance.

I don't think you did anything wrong about you said; maybe you should have just answered yes when they asked you the second time, so that they would leave you alone. I'm not sure if what they called you is racist, I think it would be more of them being ignorant. They were just trying to get you mad, but couldn't think of anything else to say. Don't worry about it :)

She was rude from the beginning. If she doesn't like what is on your plate she should pick food she likes to eat. When someone calls someone a white b----. That is racist. There is no excuse for that. Did you ever notice that certain people are held to a higher standard by others and often times they are hypocrites?

They were wrong. They had no right to comment on the food you were eating. As far as being racist, they were the ones that mentioned your race, not the other way around. Some people yell racism, when in reality it's not their race but the way they behave. You didn't do anything wrong. Just try to forget it.

You were being rude yes bus so was she, I'm inclined to think this was a clumsy attempt at being friendly. You probably could have been nicer but you're not in the wrong to rebuff her so.

For people automaticly jump up and cry RACISM is becoming very tiresome lately.

People are simply sick of being accused of racism over every infraction against a person who happens to be of minority race.

YOU ARE NOT A RACIST but you could have answered the question in a more polite manner. No matter how disgrace someone is they usually respond well to polite reply.

It was wrong of them to call you name as well. They should have understand that you don't want to deal with them. Again, it was your rights and liberty not to answer them.

Grace and mercy

No you were not rude or racist. Who talks rudely about someones food if they are not at the same table and do not even know you. And they called you a f'in white bitc,, Well, the ignorance was on them. Why would anyone look at someones plate and make ill mannered comments about what you are eating. You ordered it you were paying for it, you were not asking them anything. i think they were very rude and very ignorant. God bless****
