What are the philosophical roots of Stalinism, other than Communism itself, that furthered its development and subsequent refinement?

There is no philosophical roots for Stalinism. For that matter there was no Stalinism as such. He followed Marx and Engels. Stalin was a Communist who ruled his USSR with iron grip Ofcourse,during his time USSR progressed fast in every field. He made USSR a world power at par with USA and UK.
