First of all don't do it at home with one of those at-home waxing kits, especially if you've never gotten waxed before. People get hurt waxing at home when they do things like heat the wax too much, let it cool too much, keep the cloth on the skin for too long, rip off the cloth at the wrong angle, etc etc. Just go to a place where people can do it for you.

Yes it hurts to have your legs waxed, but it's different for different people. I can usually handle the lower legs just fine, and then when they get to the upper legs I'm making all sorts of faces.

I've never had a brazillian because I don't want some stranger all up in my business. I get bikini waxes though. Hurts more than legs usually because well... think of what body part you're near. But it goes faster because it's such a small area.

You'll be okay. If after they start you decide the pain is too much just stop. Then you can go home and shave the rest.

as with anything ripping hairs out, it takes some getting used to. after a few times its quite bearable. different beauticians do differernt styles of brazillian waxing, some take hair from around vagina and also anal area, others don't and only take the hair from the 'mound'. bikini waxes just strip the hair from where you would normally see it outside of a bikini, a basic tidy up.

in my experience, and depending on your own tastes, i have regular brazillian simply because shaving leaves an unsightly razor rash and it feels oh so much cleaner.

i also find that having my eyebrows waxed hurts more.

if you decide to use Nair instead make sure you're not allergic or extra sensitive to it by testing a small area. I found out I was not compatible with it the hard way... all my pores bled and it burned for days.
Keep in mind that waxing may also make you bleed, but I'd be more comfortable with a proffesional worrying about it.
Beware of brazillian waxes if youre shy... they get EVERY hair...

I love a guy with body hair. The only place I don't like it is on the back, but I can overlook that. I think hairy guys just seem more virile and masculine. This idea that guys need to shave or wax to be baby-smooth is a recent phenomenon, and one that I hope people get over soon. It's so disappointing to see shirtless picture of my favorite hunk only to have him be unnaturally smooth.

On the bright side, my wife gets a regular bikini wax, and has been having more and more hair removed. The result is the most exciting thing. Sigh!

A brazilian wax is when they rip out every single hair from your naval to your knees. Bikini waxes leaves hair in the most essential and minimal area. Personally I prefer Nair down there.

Yes, it hurts. However, in some salons they have these aneasthetic sprays that numb your skin for a few minutes so you cant feel anything. Go for bikini wax first if you're nervous. Once you get the hang on that, you can go brazilian.

Little steps first! :) Goodluck!

AH! WAXING HURTS SOOOOO BAD! i did it with a friend, and i ended up bleeding through my pores, and it got all extra sensitive and red for like 2 weeks. i couldnt lay on my stomach. it was a bikini wax, so i think it will be less painful on legs. since they are much less sensitive than bikini area... good luck.

Waxing is temporary hair removal method.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

all i can say is ouch. your legs will be red and puffy for about 40 minutes at least afterwards. it is worth it though. you will be silky smooth hair free for over a month without even glancing at a razor.. the higher up the waxing is, though, the more painful it will get.

good luck!!!
