I have a website and I know I can drive more traffic to my site through eBay. I don't want to bother with selling on eBay or having to pay eBay seller's fees. I have seen a couple sellers auction off their products on their eBay, and at the same time, advertising the website in which they SELL those products. I don't want to sell through eBay, though. I would like to post my products on eBay and then DIRECT that traffic from eBay TO my website. How should I go about doing this? Am I wrong for not wanting to sell my products on eBay? It seems like it might be the way to go, though... Please give me your thoughts. I'd like to hear from people who are or have been in the same situation. :)

Hi:
Yes... there are different ways to utilize eBay if you are a member. You can post your website links & banners on your "About Me" page. I've seen some sellers who have their entire homepage from their website on their "About Me" page.

If you are listing an item up for auction - you can also make a button or banner for your auction listing... put it somewhere near the bottom & link it to your "About Me" page.

There are many ways to utilize eBay as a selling tool... but the real secret is utilizing the eBay affililate program for your website! That's where the real money is. Sorry... there really is not enough space or time to tell you all there is to know about that one. But it really is where all of the secret money is!

Hope this helps you.

Hi,

In response to your question . . .

Why wouldn't you want to sell on eBay? Auctions are not the only form of advertising. You can sell products at retail. Just do some research. People are selling new and used products.

You need to research search engines and learn how to advertise on them. To advertise your products on Google, Yahoo and MSN you will have to learn PPC (pay per click). You will also have to learn Internet Marketing. You can research both these terms on the Internet. Research everything!! Also research Internet Marketers and join their newletters to receive free Internet Marketing secrets and free ebooks that you can download to your computer.

There are great many search engines to advertise on but this will be very expensive. The search engines where most people worldwide go to sell and buy are Google, MSN, Yahoo, Ebay and there are others. So research and get the answers you need.

If you find this all too difficult for you, then there is an easier and free way to increase traffic or customers to your site.

Check out the link I left for you below.

Take Care and Good Luck!

My parents used to do a lot of selling on Ebay and a lot of the time they would look to current events to decide what to buy. They had a pretty extensive collection of books, political and sports memorabilia. They would see what politicians, sports figures or events were in the news and would sell anything they had that was related. I think that what sells on Ebay is probably an ever-changing thing.
