Yes and no... Your connection speed is pretty much out of your control (short of switching to a different service).

But you can surf the net faster by using an up to date browser. I prefer Firefox because you can customize it beyond belief - blocking banner ads, having the controls for your music player show in your browser, it's faster than Internet Explorer....

If it's pure speed you're after, Opera's the fastest web browser out there (That I know of).

well the short answer is no, the long answer is yes they advertise speed boosters so pages load faster and such but what these programs are doing are lowering the resolution of the page and in some cases removing whole pictures or grafix wich take time to load so if you use these yes you will see a slight speed increese but you will suffer in quality unless you are in search of information only then i would suggest against it.

NO. Only thing that works is getting DSL. I have tried cable and even satelite dish internet. They were NOT faster than DSL and they cost more than DSL. I use Bell South. Very reliable.

NO! tht is the exact oppisite of what you should do. downloading stuff makes your computer go slower!
