Short answer: yes. More so then the republicans. You see, Republicans created policies that created our current enemies, and often have close relationships with those people. Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, for example.
So I would say that Democrats are better suited to dealing with security. Intelligence is key, and The white house likes its intelligence fixed, and they don't' listen t information that doesn't fit their worldveiw.

They could only be good at security if Republicans acted like they did not think security was important. Because it seems to me the Democrats do not have actual policy, they just look at whatever Republicans do and they choose the opposite. They are not interested in protecting the nation, they are interested in bashing Republicans. That is why liberals say we should not be in Afghanistan, a nation that oppressed the hell out of women. They will let the former Taliban spokesman come and speak at our universities just because doing so is contrary to what Republicans would do and frankly contrary to common fckin sense. If anything the Democrats will secure our defeat and possibly our extinction.
