His full name is Barrack Hussein Obama. The middle name could cause him problems. Yes, I believe an African American is capable of leading this great nation. But Barrack Hussein Obama lacks experience.
Let's just see what dirt Hillary will bring to the surface on Barrack Hussein Obama.

Barrack Obama is one of the few prominent politicians today who opposed both the Iraq war AND the Patriot Act. I don't care about "experience" level if he is smart and ethical enough to have taken both of these stands. Russ Feingold is another, but he has said he will not run. Dennis Kucinich has just announced he will run, and he also opposed both the war and the Patriot Act.
I would vote for Barrack above HIllary Clinton, Richardson. I would have to hear more before picking him over Kucinich. I would pick Russ Feingold over them all.
I believe in voting for the best person for any job, regardless of race or religious affiliation. It makes me sad that enough people do NOT feel this way, and that someone who is not a white anglo-saxon protestant has less of a chance to be elected. I plan to vote my conscience in the primaries, though, and not compromise for the sake of finding someone "electable". We made that mistake with Kerry, and he sold us out in a number of ways, not the least of which was not contesting the Ohio vote.

You bet he is a good candidate... I think he and Hilary should team up.. as candidates for Pres and vice pres... don't care which way.. both are free thinkers and have a lot of smarts. I think I prefer Obama as president tho.. but either way.. would make a good team. of course the odds of that happening are zero to nothing.. Oh well... it was a thought!

Since he has not had much experience, I would not vote for him. I think that he would be used as a pawn to take away the vote for another qualified candidate and cause the election to go the Republican route. When he has a few years of expierence in then I'll consider voting for him......

There's no problem with a black American being president itself. The problem is he or she is not currently electable. Colin Powell may be an exception.
You use "capable" - looks like you have another agenda, friend.

Race has nothing to do with it for me. Although he has already played the card. I want to see the debates between Obama and Hillary. See the gloves come off. I want to see who wins their primary and the Democrat ticket. If you vote for Hillary, how will the black vote feel? Will this start the call of racism in the Democratic party? Come on 08 I can't wait to see this play out!

It's not that he's African American, it's that he is inexperienced.
I would LOVE to see him as president, but 2008 just isn't going to be the time for him to run and win. When he does became president he will be amazing, but he needs more time to learn and grow.
