Why does our home gets so dusty?
We do not have any pets in the home.
We live in the city.
We can dust our home and there will be more dust within a couple of days.
I realize this happens, but the amount of dust is way above average.
How can we remedy this problem?

I read an icky statistic that most house dust is from dead skin cells. Also, in the city, there's dust from the tires that roll along the roads (and concrete dust from those tires), and not a lot of plant matter to keep the dust down.

You might check your windows for cracks, clean the heater vents, check picture frames etc. for hidden dust traps, etc. But, dust is a fact of life.

You will never eliminate dust in the house whether you live in the country or city. When the sun shines you can see the dust particles flowing in the air. Through doors and windows come in dust from street, traffic and garden. Inside everytime one uses a towel, dust comes off, my towels get threadbare from use, the towel disintegrates in dust. The same goes for carpets, you walk on the floor tiny bits of wool come off. If a person is allergic to dust, an electronic air filter helps to reduce dust. Revert to hard wood flooring.

I use an air filter.
You can get your heating ducts cleaned. Most have an intake from outside air. People might also be having fires in their fireplaces that is causing it this time of year.

I moved from one area to another 75 miles away and I have a huge dust problem that did not exist in my other house.

Mine can be explained by several factors- mostly that I moved from the city to an area that does have agricultural industry 10 miles away.
Good Luck!

Do like to have your windows open? If so that may be the cause. Also constant motion in your house may cause dust to form more rapidly. I don't think there is anything that can really stop the problem but just keep doing what you do to keep it dust free as possible.

You claim that you live in the city. However, are you in the city center? or in an area that is not TOTAL concrete!? I experience the similar issue, but I know it is from the pasture that is not far from me. If you change your air filters more often and USE the 'better' ones, you will notice an improvement!

when you live in the city the air polutants that come from car exhaust causes dust particles in your house.also when the wind blows and your windows aare open the dust is coming from there. if your furnace is on, the dust in the heat ducts abd such is blowing in from the heater vents. i know itws crazy but dust is coming sown on us from every direction. all we can do is dust as often as we can and hope the wind doesnt blow. merry christmas.

I'm not sure, but it gets dusty probably because dead skin falls off of you and whoever else lives there is probably forming into dust

Have the ducts in your house cleaned out. Also check the seal on your dryer exhaust hose.
