So called Windows PCs are based around the Microsoft Windows software product. But the hardware of the computer might have an Intel processor or AMD processor. The same version of Windows will work with either processor.
Yes, computers that use the AMD processors are often a bit less expensive, but perfectly good computers. So a smart budget minded user will select an AMD computer system.
AMD does have the AMD 64 processor, which is a very good contender against the fastest Duo Core 2 Intel Processors. So if you want Rocket Science speed, AMD comes through again.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

AMD or Intel works fine with the Windows Operating system.
AMD does not have an Operating System.
Microsoft has an Operating System (Windows)
Linux is another Operating System, which works fine with AMD or Intel.
As such you are basically confusing terms:
AMD makes a processor (among other things)
Intel makes a processor (among other things)
An Operating system can support different processors, but Windows supports both of these. An operating system is software -- the processors are hardware.

Windows is an operational software, where AMD is the processor on the Motherboard.
The 2 processors out there in the main stream are Intel and AMD.
AMD is usually cheeper, but tends to run hotter than Intel processors. So if your using AMD make sure you have good air flow and fans in your computer case.
Both processors work with windows.

No real difference. AMD is a type of processor and is able to run windows. Think of AMD as another Intel only smaller and designed differently.
