Why does it seem like most of the people caught shoplifting are Black? Serious question, and no its not b/c loss prevention has that focus, b/c they are black as well.

I am guessing the majority of shoplifters are economically disadvantaged (poor). You are only looking at the superficial (skin color) and in your particular area the economically disadvantaged are predominantly black. I would also guess that in Ontario Canada the typical shoplifter is white...and poor.

I've been in loss control for a retail store myself and the truth is that the majority of the thieves are employees .
