People when they exchange fluids with each other by having sex.
They do it for various reasons here are a few of the reasons
1) They want something they can give into, to feel like they can make a good difference in the world and often have someone carry on in their footsteps after they die
2) They want to feel powerful in some part of their life, often either or both of A) or B) where
A) = To give their child the power to live a good life or
B) = To give themselves the power to be the boss
3) They don't feel loved and think having a baby will give them someone to love
4) They do it by accident: they don't use good protection when they have sex and, because of that, the man and woman exchange what makes to woman have the baby

But, no matter how each baby is created, each is equally valuable and should be treated well: and if the parents can not do that it is a problem with the parents not the child.

Women have things they make in their bodies called 'eggs' in a medical sense.
Men make things in their bodies that can be thought of as 'seeds'.

When the two are combined, a baby can start to form inside a woman, growing from the egg, like birds in one sense.

The technical word for the eggs is "ovum" (one) or "ova" (many). The words are from Latin and the first means 'egg', the second 'eggs'.

They are not hard-shelled like birds' eggs, but they are "eggs". Your mother wasn't really 'lying' - but some people prefer their children don't know all the details at (what they consider) too young an age.

If you are serious, you shouldn't be getting your info here at Yahoo Answers.

How old are you? Since you are interested, I think you should ask your mother again. Often parents wait to have a big talk about this until they're sure their child is interested and ready. Sounds like you are.

If she won't discuss it with you, speak with your school counselor, your pediatrician, etc. Or go to the library and get out a book that will talk about girls and boys bodies, changes in adolesence, reproduction, etc.

I really don't think people here should be the ones discussing such important matters with you.

Having enough prenatal care, taking prenatal nutrients, treating STDs and fending off medications and alcohol might diminish the threat of getting a infant with a bodily deformity, however a few are simply flukes of nature and regardless of the mother and father doing the whole thing correct a youngster can correctly be born with a deformity.
