It shouldn't come off if you don't rub it off... try NYC eyeliner or liquid eyeliner that stays on really good.

Are you using any moisturizer before applying your makeup? Also, I know if I use baby oil to remove my eye makeup, no matter how much I wash it off, my makeup will slide off the next day. So try to avoid applying makeup too soon after moisturizing Try using a silicon based primer before putting on your makeup Smash box makes a good one, also a lot of companies make eyeshadow primers that fill and smooth out the eye area and help makeup adhere. There is a great product out there called She-laq I think it is made by Benefit that works to set eye makeup after it is applied. Check out www.sephora.com there are tons of really good primers and sealants for eye makeup. Also, Do you wear powder? A light dusting of translucent powder could also help. Or try using a cake eyeliner or dark eyeshadow applied with a liner brush rather than a traditional pencil or liquid. Stila's smudge pots are a good in between choice.

I have the same problem. I love the look of black eyeliner but couldn't find a way to make it stay. Now what I do is apply a cream foundation on my eye area, then apply MAC's Powerpoint eyeliner in "engraved" (jet black). After drawing the lines, I dust a light powder over it, and directly above/below where I put the eyeliner.

I know you didn't want product, but that has been part of the key to success for me.

Someone above suggested using MAC cosmetics eyeliner. I don't wear eyeliner often, but their fluidline product is my favorite when I do. It has to be applied with a brush, which can be a pain if you aren't used to it, but NOTHING seems to take this stuff off. I originally got it after going to a pool party. My friend was swimming (underwater) with eyeliner on - it didn't smudge or run at all. It was this stuff. I've used only this since and have been very satisfied.

Exactly the same problem I got. I came to believe that eyeliner is not gonna work on me no matter until I begun to use Clinuque eyeliner and it is not liquid. It is dark black but then it can be melt away in warm weather. I suggest that you wear concealer and powder before applying the eye liner.. Good Luck!

Try "Shadow Stylist" by Maybelline . I had the same problem.
It comes with a sponge tip applicator in a small triangular tube.
You can use it for eyeliner or shadow. It's a loose powder , but stays on .

Look at the back of the package for several different ways to use it..

Have fun !

Try Smashbox cream eyeliner. It comes in tons of colors, most of the time there are two colors in each pot. You can buy it on ebay, or on qvc.com. Qvc.com usually has great deals on kits, so you can try out a few things. Apply the eyeliner with brush #8,9 or 21. The jet set waterproof eyeliner is excellent, and comes in a set WITH a #21 brush on qvc.com for about 35 dollars-a good deal.

Try applying a powder over the area that you are going to use the eyeliner. Also, if you use it on the inside of your eye sometimes that can be difficult to get to stick. Try to use it as close to the lash as possible without actually being on the inside... if you eyes are even slightly watery it's bye bye eyeliner no matter what brand.

Im sure you would have this in America, as we have it in Australia - permanent makeup. Its kind of tatooed on. I know it sounds scary, but its really not. It was cheap and totally pain free.
I just got my eyelashes done. Now I just curl my eyelashes, and dont have to worry about mascara. (I had same trouble as you - except would end up with mascara under my eyes - not pretty)
Beauticians do it here.
If this freaks you out, try powder or a primer. But really I think this permanent makeup stuff could be the answer for you. Talk to your beauty therapist about it.

unless you use liquid eye liner, its fairly normal for your eye liner to fade a bit over the course of the day, your situation sounds so weird though...maybe you're putting to much on? its hard to say...also, are you putting it on like the insidish part of the bottom of the eye (the part above the eye lashes )? if so, try putting it within your eyelash line because the inside part of the eye is liquidy (i know that sounds gross) and so it doesnt really get a chance to dry properly and would explain why its basically gone in 5 seconds...umm i hope that helps..
