Apollo 11 was a triumph, not a tragedy. It was mankind's first landing on the moon; a remarkable accomplishment. Apollo 1 was the first tragedy of NASA when Virgil "Gus" Grissom, Edward White, II, and Roger Chaffee burned to death in a flash fire inside their Apollo capsule during a launch pad test.
