I have had sex several times with my boyfriend... when I first did it with him which was about 3 yrs ago. I never bled or hurt. Like most girls say it does, it has never happened to me. One of my friends told me if you haven't bled (in other words popped my cherry) I am still a virgin. Is that true? Also if it is true, then can I get pregnant if for some reason he messes up and goes in me?

If you have had vaginal intercourse then you are no longer a virgin. You don't have to bleed, I didn't bleed and I sure as hell am not a virgin.

Whatever nonsense your friends have told you, if you have had sexual intercourse, that is the insertion of a penis into your vagina, you are by definition NOT a virgin.
Bleeding or not has nothing to do with it since the hymen varies so much from woman to woman. Some have a tough, even a completely imperforate one and others have little or no tissue there congenitally or due to some cause other than sexual intercourse. To use the slang term, your "cherry" was "popped" the first time you had intercourse whether there was blood or not.

You can always get pregnant if sperm gets near the opening to your vagina, whether there is penetration or not. Real virgins have become pregnant when their partners ejaculated even though no penetration occurred.

It sounds as if you are using withdrawal ("pulling out") as an attempt at birth control. I say "attempt" because it is a very ineffective method with a very high failure rate. There is a pre-ejaculate that happens before the man's orgasm and it can and often does contain sperm quite capable of causing pregnancy. In addition, many, many times the man does not manage to "pull out" in time and the full ejaculate is deposited in the vagina.

In addition, you are playing Russian roulette with HIV/AIDS, syphilis, herpes, and a host of other sexually transmitted diseases in addition to risking pregnancy. It matters far less whether you are technically a virgin or not than whether you are responsible about your sexuality and are protecting yourself from unwanted pregnancy and the possibility of STD's.

You need to better educate yourself on sexual matters. This can be from a good book like "Our Bodies, Ourselves" or from websites like plannedparenthood.org and www.scarleteen.com . Virginity is really a big issue over a little tissue and nothing compared to the risks of disease, psychological harm, and unwanted pregnancy that can result from a lack of education and exercising maturity and responsibility in being a sexual being. Please take better care of yourself.

You might consider sharing some of the things you learn with your friends who are so far off the path with these matters.

GOOD GOD CHILD !!!!!! You're having sex and you don't know the difference from being a virgin and not being a virgin ? OBVIOUSLY you are far too young to be having SEX !!!!! You NO longer are a virgin. All that popped cherry crap is silly. Most young females manage to do that when they start their periods and opt to use tampons instead of pads. All this "cherry" is , is a very thin membrane that is easily and usually not noticed upon tearing. And if you're having sex and you're not using some form of birth control ....OF COURSE YOU CAN GET PREGNANT !!! Don't go to your friends for advise....they don't know anymore than you do. Find an adult that you can trust and talk about these things with her. And when you and your b/f are having sex , small amounts of semen are constantly being released inside of you. And all it take is one itty bitty pin dot of sperm to fertilize an egg...BAM !!!!! BABY !! PULLING OUT DOESN"T WORK !!!!!!! That's just what the fellas say so they don't have to use a condom. So, protect yourself, not from only pregnancy but from deadly diseases such as "HIV" "AIDS" ........RUBBERS RUBBRES RUBBERS.

Once you have sex you're not a virgin anymore. It is possible that your cherry had been popped doing something other than having sex. Yes you can get pregnant. Don't you think that he should be wearing a condom anyway????

you aren't a virgin. usually between sports and other things teens dont even have a 'cherry' because over time it just breaks down and goes away. just because you didn't bleed doesnt mean you are a virgin. if there was a penis inside of you you arent a virgin anymore. and yes you can still get pregnant so you should be on the pill and always use a condom to prevent pregnancy and STDs

good luck hun

you are not a virgin. no way. some girls just don't bleed the first time(or ever) I didn't. It could be due to some kind of early trauma, or it may have happened already during some heavy foreplay(if you get my meaning). or maybe you just didn't have one, or you used tampons?
anyways, if you've had sex, you're not a virgin. penetration is the deciding factor, not popping some cherry. and you CAN get pregnant, so please be careful.

If you don't know the answer to this, then you are too young to be having sex. If you've had penetration several times, you are not a virgin. The bleeding may have been so minimal you didn't even notice.

And yes, you can get pregnant if you are having sex.

If you had sex you are not a virgin, some girls "cherries" pop at a very young age and not from sex, it can happen from riding a bicycle, or wearing tampons, so no you are not a virgin, why would you think that...

No, you are not a virgin. Being a virgin has nothing to do with "popping your cherry". Being a virgin means never having intercourse. In other words, your vagina is pure and untouched by other men. (Virgin literally means pure.)

Once you have intercourse you are not a virgin anymore. Just because you didn't "pop your cherry" doesn't mean anything, most girls "pop their cherry" before having intercourse, due to normal activity in sports or tampon use, most likely you did that. And you can get pregnant!

I agree with the previous answer. There's a very good chance you have broken your hymen yourself. Despite what the boxes say, tampons CAN break your hymen, and you wouldn't even realize it. A hard fall can (oddly enough) also do the trick. And yes, you CAN get pregnant if he messes up. So be mindful about using protection.
