NO! not a bit! there are people in some classes that are 30, 40, 50 & 60+! seriously, you are never too old to go back to school! now is the time to do this! actually, my husband waited a few years until he went to school & it was much better for him because he was actually ready.

I went to University when I was 21, I blended in because I looked young for my age, but I did feel a bit out of place. However, I found people my own age to hang out with and even people 4 years younger then me (who I am still best friends with today at the age of 31). Just know you aren't the only "old person" there, and you certainly will not be the oldest!
Your "real world" experience will make you more focused on a goal of study because you know a degree will help you get a more bearable 9 to 5 career and wage in the future.
I am currently a Registered Nurse and I am considering going back to school to be a Malpractice Lawyer. I know my age and real world experience is an asset!

I went back to college when I was 25, and I was a little concerned about that. My bigger concern was not doing something good with my life, so I was able to put the 'weirdness' aside. I found out there were people of all ages and backgrounds and I did not feel uncomfortable at all. Living in a dorm would have been weird at that age, but classes and social activities were cool.
Good luck!

Yes, it would be weird when you think of your age. But that should not be your main concern when getting an education. One is never too old to learn, especially in the present days. The amount of new knowledge available is hitting us at an explosive rate that even professionals need to keep themselves updated regularly. So, go for it while you are still young!

I didn't go right out of high school. I waited 2 years before going back....but I didn't go back full time until my 3rd year away from high school. There are people in college of every age. Do not feel bad at all.
Besides, isn't it "cool" to be older than everyone? 5th graders feel like they are the bomb because they are the oldest in the school.....same with 8th graders....and 12th graders.

dude I'm 24 years old and i just now figured out what i wanted to do. i am a freshmen at a university and their are plenty of other students that are older then me and are now just starting school. when you go to college you'll find yourself with people older then u just starting off. PAYING FOR SCHOOL IS TOUGH.. i couldn't afford to go to college and pay on my own. i didn't get approved for financial aid...if your having the same problem then TRUST when i tell you this...apply for a job at your nearest hospital, try ur best to get in any position (even if its in the cafeteria). Once your in the hospital, they will have several programs to pay for your education (business, nursing, xry, rrt, cna, etc.) just because your an employee there you will have an opportunity to get Ur school paid for. Even if you have to sign a contract with working with them for a couple of years after u graduate...after all you have to sacrifice something to get a better deal at the end right!

Non-traditional students are quite the norm as more and more people are opting to travel, have families, save money before they go to school. You are still young enough that you'll fit right in with the traditional students and will have the best of both worlds.
If you don't live on campus you should get involved in campus activities in order to meet people.
Good luck.

Don't be worried, people at post-secondary schools are all ages. 22 is still fairly young. Plus you will have the benefit of a few years of maturing before you went making it all the more worth while.

22 is nothing. You've got your whole life ahead of you. Keep in mind that most people who come out of the armed forces go to college around your age. Trust me, there will be a lot of people there who are older than you.

You will become much more popular because you will be able to buy beer for your classmates :)
Seriously you should start now if you can. The sooner you start the easier it will be. It will be much harder to find the time when you have a career and/or children to worry about.
