A position at my job just opened up. I was first on the list to get this position by my credentials won't allow me to get it until March.I will get it for sure in March. My friend/co worker heard about the position through me.(dumb move) her credentials will allow her to get this position now. She has talked to everyone but me about applying for it. Should I be upset with her? She told other co workers that she will talk to me about it tomorrow, how should I handle it. I am not happy . I don't think she will do well in this position, and not because I want it.

Just sit back and do nothing! If she is not meant for the job she will fall. You know things happens for a reason!

Your friend is a tad sneaky, but when she tells you about what she has done, hear her out first. She may have a good reason. Try not to be upset, because others may feel as you do, that she will not do well in the new position. Remember, just because she has applied for the position does not mean that she will get it.

Laugh at yourself & get over it. You opened your mouth & spilled the beans. Let her make her own decisions about whether it suits her or not. If she does come to you, remember she cares about your opinion of her, or she would not bother.

Besides, what makes you think the position would be held for you for another 3 months. Most aren't.. I got upset in the past about jobs I wanted & lost, & also gotten some of them. Let's just say I don't always know what is best for me.

Boy , with friends like her you don't need enemies. They say all is fair in love and war but the job front should be sacred don't you think?

Let her try out for it. We all want to better ourselves. It's not her fault she has first shot at it. If she's really your friend support her.
