I think Somalia will make Afghanistan & Iraq look like minor skirmishes because there are A LOT more people & radical Islamic fundementalists in Somalia/Horn of Africa than Iraq & Afghanistan combined and the US military is strung out so thin that they couldn't stop the terrorists/radicals in that region of Africa even if they wanted to (unless they left Iraq/Afgahistan). And I think if you saw Blackhawk down, you want to be absolutely sure that your ready to deal with another insurgency with Somalia's drug induced, AK-47, RPG carrying insurgents. And if you haven't noticed the US military ain't the best at fighting insurgents.

Getting involved in areas that have traditionally been tribal (Africa, Middle East, Central Asia) is and will always be a bad idea for the US. Very few Americans have ever lived the tribal experience. A major problem in Iraq and Afghanistan has been the inability of the US to recognize different ethnic groups and their different priorities. Colonial powers put arbitrary boundaries on these countries and acted as if their history began that day.

If I were President right now, I'd be terrified to take any action in Somalia. It's far too late to prevent it from being a "terrorist training ground." It has been run by warlords since 1991. Osama bin Laden executed the East African embassy bombings in 1998 FROM Somalia. As a nation, we do not understand Africa to do anything about this. And that's too bad, because this is going to be a horrible situation for a long time for a lot of people.

You may have noticed an U.S. aircraft went down near this region a few months ago, I don't think office clerks were on board, and as long as the Legion is in djibouti, terrorists will do nothing here.

He stated they were flying throughout Iraq to skinny out those camps. have you ever been there? the entire area is a reliable position for terrorist training camps. And if we had no longer lengthy previous in, do you imagine no terrorists will be training in Iraq. really of reading one ingredient, and making a good selection on that, study alot, or examine with peopl who've been there. the documents sells adverse media, because adverse press sells more desirable ideal. do not only scratch the exterior, dig for the truth!

Seeing as how the man has been criticized for all of his foreign policy decisions, what could he possibly do now that would be considered "right"?

Maybe he should call Les Aspin or M. Albright...........
