DNS Is 'Domain Name System'..
According To Wikipedia (1):
"DNS stores and associates many types of information with domain names, but most importantly, it translates domain names (computer hostnames) to IP addresses."

I Belive DNS On The PSP Is Used To Connect Online (hence the dns icon during connection boot up) To Get The IP Address, Something Along Those Lines..

RSS (2) Generally Means 'Really Simple Syndication'..
Basically, It's A 'Feed' That Lets You Get Your Updates Quick And Easy Without The Need To Actually Visit All The Websites..
Some Use Examples Are Getting The New Posts On A Blog Or A New Podcast To Listen To..

(if you don't know what that is as well, a 'podcast' is a sort of free radio show on a mp3 format (for audio) made by everyday people to listen on your mp3 player, like your ipod, hence the name 'pod'cast..)

On The PSP's 'RSS Channel', You Can Recieve The Latest Audio, Video, And/Or Photo Files From Your Favorite Website's RSS Feeds..
To Subscribe To An RSS Feed On Your PSP, You Must Use Your PSP Web Browser And Check Out Your Favorite Sites, They May Have A Podcast..

If You See A 'RSS' Icon On The Site (it's generally on the side or bottom of a page), Click It And The PSP Will Ask If You Would Like To Add It To Your RSS Channel.. Accept And When You Go On The RSS Channel, You Can Check Out The Podcast By Listening To It (by streaming it, no need to download) Or Download It..

Note That Not All RSS Feeds Can Be Used On The PSP Since It May Not Be Just For Audio/Video/Photo Files. It May Be A Text Post And The PSP Currently Cannot Support That..
Also, You Cannot Stream (view it off the web without downloading) Video And Photo Files On The RSS Channel, You Can Only Download It For Later Use..
